Verwood Brimstone of Barrenger 1981-1991 (Ch Langpool William ex Ch Zondas I’m a Muddy Girl of Verwood) “Brim” was the foundation bitch of our current line and always “in charge” Though she was not a large bitch she was always first - in a nice way! On walks she preferred Margaret to be behind with the rest of the mob. She was the dam of our first champion - Queen’s Indian. She did her bit in the show ring too with a bit of winning including her Kennel Club Stud Book number.
Here are some early members of the Barrenger gang.
These two are Bezel Sharonella of Barrenger (Italian Ch Bezel Bannerman ex Ireton Charity Sweet 1974 - 1986 - known as Perdita & her son Barrenger Tree beard.(by Ch Stormfield Hugo) 1976-1988
Perdita was a striking dark tricolour - she had no white on her head but was still very pretty. She was a bold adventurous type. Treebeard was the gentlest Basset ever - and he was quite happy to let the ladies in the household be in charge. He enjoyed showing and won his Kennel Club Stud Book number. Here you can see both of them at ease in the garden and enjoying a holiday on a canal boat.

- what a little sweetie
Barrenger Brimtree “Jolie” ( Barrenger Treebeard ex Verwood Brimstone of Barrebgerr) Jolie was a stunning coloured red & white, and a large exuberant character at home, but alas she did NOT enjoy showing so she remained a stay at home girl - digging the biggest holes for her bones, Here she is with one of her puppies
Brim enjoying a good chase through the fields - who says a Basset can’t move!
