August 31st  South Eastern Hound Club. Well we returned to where Duncan won Best in Show last year and Margaret had polished the huge trophy till it shone.  The weather was appalling. We had low cloud and rain all the way and we arrived to find the judging taking place indoors. Luckily it cleared slightly to allow our judge, Tony Fryer, to judge outside.  Duncan and Albie both won their classes and Duncan won his 2nd Best of Breed at this show. Thanks!  No luck this time in the big ring but we treated ourselves to a KFC on the way home!

August 15th  Welsh Kennel Club today - and it was a dry & sunny one! DUNCAN WON HIS FIRST CC TODAY under breed specialist Sue Pocock (Fromebank). He showed so well and really enjoyed himself. This is a lucky show for us as Dudley won 1 CC here, Gullie 2 CC’s and Duncan’s brother from an earlier litter won a res CC.

August 2nd.  Houndshow Day. Duncan compensated for his 2nd in the breed class by taking 2nd place in the prestigious Open stakes, beating a few champions along the way. The class was won by Serena’s lovely Beagle boy - Ch Serenaker Devil in Disguise.  Albie  won her Yearling class.. The parade of pack hounds was as good as ever.

July 30th - It was a lovely warm day for the Dunster show with a light wind blowing. We were not being judged until after lunch so we wondered around and shared our venison hotdogs with Duncan & Albie.  They did us proud by winning both their classes and this time Albie took BOB. She then showed her socks off to get 2nd in the group!

July 22nd  Pauline & Ted rang to tell us that they had had to say goodbye to Gullie. He had been suffering from a suspected brain tumour and his quality of life was quite poor. Goodbye old chap - many thanks for all the wonderful times you gave everyone with your great personality & showmanship. You leave a great hole in the lives of Pauline & Ted

July 15th - Margaret judged her first Championship Show at Peterborough. She enjoyed herself and made her BOB Ch Bromwylva Mint Imperial of Dereheath - and that (as Pauline Conner tells us) gave him the same number of CC’s as Ch Barrenger Gulliver Travels!

July 5th - We took Gracie (Barrenger Amazing Grace) to the Wiltshire & District Cat show where she won her 3rd CC & Best of Breed - this makes Gracie our 4th Silver Spotted Champion British Shorthair. Judge Mrs Joyce Higgins

July 3rd - Barrenger  Beswick was Best of Breed at the South Wales Show judge Nick Bryce-Smith

June 11th - A very special day for us as we picked up our new lad, Bellecombe Romulus from Heathrow. All went smoothly and we were very impressed by the facilities provided by the Animal Reception Centre for owners, as it can be a long wait for your pet to be released. Many thanks to Grace Servais for letting Rommy live with us and the caring staff at the Reception Centre.

March 29th - Bridgwater DCS - We  haven’t shown here for a while as it has been run in conjunction with South West Hound, where we are on the committee.  Albie was beaten into 2nd place today by her her pretty half-sister - Caz Turner’s  Devonhound Monnlight Mistletoe of Zeal.  Duncan gained BOB and then came 2nd in the Hound Group!
